KIN MAN

On Thursday 16th February, Kin Man was one of two students to receive a class trophy. He actually handed back four medals (a medal had gone missing quite some time ago, it had lost its ribbon but it was found!) and was presented his third trophy in around 8 weeks from his second. That's an amazing rate of class medals and shows that he must be doing all the right things in class.

Kin Man is working hard towards his next grade and it does not go unnoticed by the sensei's and dan grades.

LINDSEY

Lindsey is our thirteenth student in 2010 to win the class medal three times and be rewarded with the small medal trophy. It was definately not a case of 13 being unlucky, as Lindsey has only been with us for about two months and was presented with her trophy straight after passing her red belt grading. Lindsey is a student who listens and consistantly works hard in all her lessons. Keep doing what you're doing Lindsey and you will get far, well done.

JOSHUA

Joshua has become the ninth student to win the class medal three times and be rewarded with the small medal trophy. Apologies to Joshua for taking the photo after the class when his hair is all messed up! It's harder for brown belts to win the trophy as they work with a lot less supervision and it's easy to think you go un-noticed, hopefully this proves we do see and appreciate the effort you put in.

NATIONAL STANDARD FITNESS TEST

On Thursday 29th July in an already warm hall all students both young and adult lined up to have a go at the Bleep Test. For some of our younger students this was something completely new, whereas some of our older children and adults have done it before. All the results were excellent, especially when you consider that some of our newer students have had no previous fitness training. The blackbelts were excluded from trophy positions with Joshua Walker-Reid winning the junior section with an impressive score. Runners up medals went to Zaina Hussain who really pushed herself and Daniel Barnett at just 7 years old making an excellent score. Stuart Reid had done the bleep test in January scoring 11.2 and tonight he blasted past ending with a fantastic score of 16.6. Stuart, Joshua, Daniel and Zaina are pictured with Max Rootsey, winner of this weeks class medal.

You must remember that the bleep test is a personal battle not a competition amongst students. We will re-run the test later in the year and hopefully you will all see an improvement in your scores. Once again, well done EVERYBODY.
